Help On Digital Cameras

Best digital camera less than 900$?
I’m currently using Sony Cybershot DSC-S650 (7.2 MP) and I’m not satisfied by the pictures at all.

Which brand and model(s) you can suggest? (It should be better than my Sony)

1) The best camera under 900$ will definitely be DSLR. However if u are going for it, then do consider the option of Live-preview with DSLR camera.

2) The 2nd option for u is to buy an “SLR-like” camera.Like

Canon G9

3) The 3rd option for u is to buy a good compact camera.Like

Nikon S700.
Fujifilm F40fd.
Canon IXUS 860 IS
Ricoh R7
Panasonic TZ3

Look at the Sony A200 and the Pentax K20D. Both are 10mp cameras with a lot to offer for the money. Both have their version of Image Stabilization in the camera body and both have dust removal for the sensor.

The Sony can use every Minolta Maxxum AF lens made since 1985 and all will AF.

The Pentax can use every K-mount lens made since 1975. Of course, the older lenses will be manual focus. The later AF lenses will work perfectly with the K10D.

According to 2 user ratings on Website dpreview.com this is a terrible camera. Image quality is bad for the Sony DSC-S650.
If you really intend to spend $500- and up go for a slr. Only 2 brands that you should choose from, and that’s Nikon and canon.
For excellent image quality you need not spend even $300-
Consider the Fuji E900, 4X optical zoom, 9 megapixels and also the Canon A630, 4X optical zoom, 8 megapixels.
It’s too bad Sony put out a camera like this. I have a 6 megapixel Sony that gives me excellent 8X10 prints and acceptable 11X14.
